About Me

Lets see, I am a pretty laid back easy going person. I have been married to my prince charming now for 10 years. I have a great 9 year old son named Jaydin who is the light of my life. I love to spend time with him and watch him learn new things. My hobbies are sewing which actually relaxes me and people think that is just crazy. I am involved in the Society for Creative Anachronism, where we recreate the middle ages. It is alot of fun as we get to basically go camping every weekend with friends and family. I enjoy Luceting and doing Inkle Weaving. Family!!! I am a big family person. My family comes first in my life and so do my friends. I was raised in a big family where we all knew each other (cousins, aunts, uncles etc) and always tried to get together for holidays.

Brookes Wedding

Well she did it!! Brooke is finally hitched and it was a beautiful day for it to happen. It wasnt overly hot and not to cold, just a bit of a breeze and it was lovely.

Noon came on Saturday, June 14th 2008 and we were all assembled at Black Creek in the pot holes, we all walked over an iron bridge to where we had set up some day shades and we all sat in white chairs. Next we hear the music and see my dad walking Brooke over the bridget and down the aisle that was made. She was escorted to her soon to be husband Matt. Bishop Clay performed the Ceremony and my sister Amy stood up for Brooke while I was taking pictures and Matts dad JR stood up with him. It was a lovely little ceremony and there was only 15 of us there, just what Matt and Brooke wanted. I have attached some photos I hope you enjoy!

I am so excited right now that I am on cloud nine. Many of you already know but my little sister Brooke is getting married. YES, you read that right she is getting married. She and her fiance Matt have been together now for 5 years and have decided that they are ready to get married and start a family. They are getting married June 14th in Othello. We are going to have a very small wedding with just our family and then she will have a reception for the rest of our extended family.

I am so happy and excited for her!!!! Matt is a really great guy and he fits into our family awsomely (is that a word). He gets along with my parents just great and my grandparents love him too. Amy and I love him and he kids oh wow the kids love him to pieces cause he will go and jump on the trampoline with them and will play with the dart guns and shoot them of course while they are shooting him. He is awesome and have I mentioned we are so excited for them.

He's a Wolf

Last night at Jaydins Scouts Meeting he was awarded his Wolf Badge. He worked Very hard for it and was really excited about getting it. Next month he gets to participate in the Day camp. I love that he is enjoying Scouts and I am so grateful for this leaders. They are teaching him so much and he is enjoying it. He amazes me each and every day with how he is growing up to be such a nice young man. I am so blessed to have him as my son.

Life in the SCA

As many of friends and family know I am a big player in the SCA. (Society for Creative Anachronism) It is where we recreate the middle ages from the time period of 650-1500's. When I first started participating in the SCA it was because Jasons mom and dad and his sister were involved in it and if we wanted to do anything with his family we basically had to join.
Over the past two years though we have come to really enjoy it and have made some awesome lifelong friends. Along with that, we have become heavily involved with me being the deputy seneschal (basically vice president) of our branch. Jason has become the Youth Armor Combat Marshal and is also a Rapier fighter. Jaydin has also become involved in it as he is fighter too and enjoys being a water bearer. What is a water bearer you ask? A water bearer a person who stands by the fighting rings and offers water to the fighters and he really enjoys it cause he gets to interact with the Knights and the Squires.

This weekend, will be the start of our event tournament season and I am so excited. I am getting the trailer all packed and the tents ready and packing clothes to wear for this weekends camping event. Camping in May, is will be chilly but it will be worth it, when all our friends gather around the fire at night and have bardic (a time of telling stories, singing and performances).
So with being part of the SCA you create a different persona, one that would live in the time period you have researched. I have come up with my name of Ysabella Greene, I am from a small town in Italy. My mother died in childbirth and my father who was a wine maker has raised me all on his own. When I was 18 my father made a bad batch of wine for the nobles in our village and it killed the nobles wife. In fear for my life, he sold me to Rowland who was visiting our land. Rowland promised my father he would take care of me and love me til the end of time.
So the time has come to get my sewing machine out and get the rest of our outfits made for this years tournaments. Yes, I sew! Yes, I enjoy it! Yes, it relaxes me...lol. So look forward to more pictures to come and more posts from Lady Ysabella Greene :)
